About ME
I was born in Cebu City, Philippines and raised in Toledo City until I was in Grade 2. Our whole family moved to Isabel, Leyte and has lived in that small town for over 20 years. My father worked in PHILPHOS and we stayed in the company’s staff housing. I completed Primary and Secondary school in LIDE Learning Centre, Inc. (formerly known as LIDE Learning Centre, De LaSalle).
After secondary school, I moved to Cebu City to pursue my tertiary education in the University of San Carlos. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy in the year 2000.
Shortly after graduation, I joined a small company called “H.O.M.E. Tutorials, Inc.” and within a year, I was offered a teaching position in Songkhla, Thailand.

My very first teaching experience was in a private school in Hatyai, Songkhla. Kittivit School has a Thai and a Bilingual school. It has over 1000 students in the Thai school alone and I was one of the English teachers in the Primary section. My experiences in this school were priceless. Being in a foreign country and not knowing the language added to the struggles and the tribulations that I had for two years.
After two years, I’ve moved to Pholwitaya Bilingual School as the Primary 3 homeroom teacher. There I have honed and defined my role as a teacher. I had the privilege to work with wonderful colleagues from different countries and cultures. At the end of the academic year, however, 25 of us (foreign teachers) left the school together with our Head teacher due to circumstances that forced us to move on.
I was thereafter offered to be the Head Teacher of a Language Centre in Songkhla. After years of teaching, however, I found myself not growing professionally and my job scope has not influenced me to be a life-long learner. I found myself doing monotonous job year after year and not gaining self-satisfaction.

As I was reflecting through my purpose and goal in life, I stumbled onto Fairview International School-Thailand. I was amazed with the professional development plans that they have for their teachers and with their programme. I had a chance to finally make a difference.
I started as a kindergarten teacher at Fairview Thailand, teaching 4 to 6 years old children. Everyday then, was full of excitement and learning. Asthe months passed, I was brought to try new things, from being a kindy teacher to a Maths teacher teaching secondary students. I also started to accept other responsibilities in school until such time when, I had to lead the entire team after our head of school left. It was not easy but, with constant guidance from our HQ, we managed to go on.

A year and a half later, I was offered to move and lead the Johor Bahru campus as the campus coordinator. From Songkhla, I packed my bags and moved to Johor Bahru. Upon my arrival in the campus, there was a slight feeling of insecurity. I arrived at a time whereby the campus was not completely ready and we had a week to prep it up and at the same time, meet our prospective parents and students as we are also getting ready to start the new term. The school started with just 25 students, 5 teachers and 1 admin staff. That was in January 2008.

As the school's enrollment grew, so does our teaching and admin staff. In 2010, our school has embarked into the International Baccalaureate Programme. I was also appointed to be the Primary Years Programme coordinator on top of what I was already doing.
Fairview Johor became an IB World School authorised to offer the Primary and the Middle Years Programme In 2013. Following the authorization visits in June 2012 for the MYP and in March 2013 for the PYP. We had around We 320 students and 65 teachers and staff then. It was such an exciting moment for me and my team. It was also very educational. Our IB visiting team for the PYP were Mr Bill Fenton and Mr Willard Ore. Both of them were amazed at the wonderful learning our students showed during those 2 days of visit and expressed that they enjoyed talking to students, parents and teachers.

In 2014, Fairview Johor finally has moved to its new campus in Bandar Dato' Onn. The movement happened in 2 stages.
In Oct 2014, we have started to occupy block A and have moved Grade 5 to Grade 11 classes while the rest of the lower PYP remained in the old campus.
In August 2015, block B became available for our use and we have moved the remaining classes into our newly built building.

It was also in 2015 when I was offered the Assistant Principal position and my main responsibility was to assist the head of school in all matters pertaining curricular and administration of the school.
In Nov 2015, five teachers in Fairview Johor, including yours truly, and a few other teachers in the Fairview Group received their Master of Arts in Education from the Sheffield Hallam University, UK.

In 2016, I was given the position of the Deputy Principal of our Fairview Johor while still holding the PYP coordinator position of the school. With this comes new and greater responsibility.
In April 2017, both of our Primary and Middle Years Programmes underwent Evaluation visits after a year of self-study reflection. Our team had a really enriching experience all throughout the review process and am proud to be part of such a vibrant team! Leading this team has been a privilege as well.

In June 2019, I have finally decided to leave this organization for which I have grown into who I am for the past 13 years. After all the good training and memories, I believe that it is about time for me to venture on another chapter of my life. It was not easy at all to leave but, I had to soldier on. I am very fortunate, however, that my last day in FIS has been great. It was spent reminiscing the past 10 years in JB campus. It was a wonderful 13 years and I am grateful for the wonderful team and for the guidance from the management team.
In July 2019, I embarked into another journey as across the border, I again took up the responsibility to guide and to hold the hands of the PYP team of Global Indian International School East Coast campus as we move towards PYP authorisation.
