Venue: Renaissance College Hong Kong (Hong Kong)
Dates: 15 - 17 October 2011
Workshop Leader/s: Tania Lattanzio and Joshua Blue
This workshop is particularly for current PYP coordinators, either newly appointed or experienced. It looks at the role of the PYP coordinator in terms of documentation, organizing professional development opportunities, and managing complex relationships, resource management and communication with a range of stakeholders. It is also an avenue for reviewing new and existing publications, curriculum mapping, policy writing and reviewing the guidelines for the different stages (pre-authorization, authorization and evaluation).
Throughout the three days, I felt reassured and more confident in the new role that I am portraying in our school. Hearing other coordinators voice out the same challenges that I am facing made me realize that we, as a school, are on the right track. Hearing them share their practices and their experiences made me realize that our school is quite competent to other established PYP schools in Asia Pacific and that we are practicing and implementing a lot of the proposed items and suggested strategies.
